
Jennifer was always aspired to achieve the status of a multi-tasking superstar. In her youth Jennifer was a fan of many different music styles, but she particularly loved Afro-Caribbean musics like merengue, salsa, and the bachata. Also, she was a fan of mainstream music such as hip-hop pop, pop and R&B. Though she was a big enthusiast of music, her fascination with the film industry was also high. Her biggest influence was the Rita Moreno musical, West Side Story (1961). At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer as well as being an entertainer , as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, attended eight years at Holy Family Catholic Primary School in The Bronx. After a time of four years, she graduated from Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. Jennifer performed well in the sports department during her time at school, and was a champion in tennis and track and field. She spent most of her growing up in a house with two stories in the Castle Hill neighborhood. Jennifer quit her home with her parents when she was 18 to move out. At the time, Lopez worked at a law firm while she took dance jobs in the evening.
