Her mother was at home and also mother to her children. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was a talented artist and singer from a young age. She would perform shows using puppets to entertain her friends. When McCormick was six years young, she took home her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency phoned and asked if she'd be interested in entering the show business. McCormick was hired to star in her first major performance in 1964 on the tv spot for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The same year, she was featured in a second commercial on television for the doll Chatty Cathy. After that, she was chosen by La Jolla Playhouse to play the character of the character Wind It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen out of a crowd of over 1500 children who had auditioned for the role of the oldest of three towheaded daughters in the upcoming TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show lasted for five years. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick revealed how during the 5th season of the TV show, she was close to losing her the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. At the time, she was just 16 years old and he was 19. It would have happened she told me, but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
